Biography: E. David Luria

E. David Luria is a professional architectural photographer, founder and director of the highly rated Washington Photo Safari program whose 11 instructors have trained over 36,500 amateur photographers from 50 states and 40 countries since 1999. That's an average of one safari with 5 people every day, 365 days a year, for 20 years! His company, one of the largest photography training programs in the country, recently received a Hall of Fame Award from Trip Advisor due to hundreds of 5-star Trip Advisor reviews.

The safaris have taken place all over the DC area and in Frederick, Annapolis, and Baltimore, as well as in France, Argentina, Canada and the Bahamas, with future safaris planned for Holland, Germany,Switzerland and Cuba!

Over the last 23 years, David has photographed over 3,500 apartment buildings, homes and restaurants and his images appear in 100 publications, including TIME, Prevention, Food and Wine, Cuccina Italiana, and the Washington Post. He is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, the Association of Independent Architectural Photographers, and the Society of Photographic Educators.

Born in Hamburg, David escaped the Holocaust at an early age and was raised in New York City. Fluent in Spanish, French and German, he is an Army veteran and honors graduate of Amherst College who pursued a 34 year career in international development and citizen exchange work with CARE, Partners of the Americas and other international non-profit organizations before becoming a professional photographer in 1995.
